Bunny tails - Lagurus (ovatus)

Use this forum for identification of plants and flowers found in the UK. To allow us to help provide accurate identification we need clear pictures of the whole plant, where it is growing and close up pictures of flowers, buds or seed heads if any available. It would also be useful to see pictures showing the leaf attached to the stem.

Bunny tails - Lagurus (ovatus)

Post by Sparky » 05 May 2024, 10:42

Hiya, does anyone know if this grass is safe to plant in my outside tortoise enclosure? It looks a bit like the elephant grasses on the identification pages but I can't see anything relating to this specific one? If it is, I thought it might make a nice shady spot!

Any help gratefully recieved, thanks in advance, Sarah

Hi Sarah,

That should be fine to plant in Teeny Titan's outdoor enclosure -- and it's a very pretty grass. I can't guarantee thought that he won't eat it to the ground in one go!
