Hi,
I can’t decide which this is. It’s growing in my lawn.
Thanks
Teasle or bristly ox tongue?
Re: Teasle or bristly ox tongue?
Really sorry to be so late in responding! We were having a little work done on the website over the weekend, and it was only this morning that we got notification of posts that had come in between Saturday and today.
Hmm, I can't quite decide either, but I'm leaning towards Teasel because they tend to have a very pale or white mid rib running down the centre of the leaf, and yours has that (and the mid ribs of Bristly Oxtongue tend to be pinkish or greenish. Lin is very good on Bristly Oxtongue and I've asked her to have a look, but I do think those white mid-ribs indicate Teasel.
