Tortoise rehoming in Brighton

Post by BAJL2002 » 10 Apr 2024, 18:14

Hi there,

It’s with great sadness that I have to rehome our families two Tortoises Marge and Margo, both Mediterranean Spur-thighs. We have owned them for almost 8 years after they were left in a box infront of our neighbours front door. Both show signs of having a poor start in life due to their shell conditions and their stunted growth but have made leaps and bounds after being provided with the correct lighting and supplementation. They are a male and female but are kept separately.

I am currently studying veterinary medicine (largely inspired by these two tortoises) and hope to specialise in exotics, but due to this I am unable to continue to give them the care they need and deserve. We are based in Brighton but are willing to travel depending on location.

I have also attached pictures of our tortoises.

Thanks a lot,

Ben

H Ben.
It’s a shame especially with the training you have chosen to do. Good luck with it, we need more people like you.
If you would like to send me what I have asked for in the message below I can add you to our pages. Is there any urgency to rehome these two lovely ladies because things seem to be moving a little slow right now.
You can reply direct to me at - lin@thetortoisetable.org.uk

If you are sure this is what you have to do then I will need some details from you.
As you probably know that no money can change hands then we can help with placing an article on our Facebook page and our website. If you would like to send in a nice photo so we can see the whole body at an angle, and some history, name, age, diet, what you are expecting as a good home, and anything else you can think of, his name and your location, not address, just the area and postcode, we would only use the first part and the first digit from the second part.
We would then put your email address in the thread (if I haven’t already got it, I would need that too) so that rehomers contact you directly and you can interview them, asking them whatever you like until you feel comfortable with who you choose to take on your tortoise. We will always he here if you need to ask us anything or would like any guidelines. Hope that helps, I will wait for your instructions and nothing will be posted live until you have read and confirmed that you’re happy with what is in the text.
Hope that’s ok
Lin
