Hiya.
I agree with Nina in saying the purple flower is one of the anemone species and a no feed. If you zoom in you can see it is a different leaf.

Re: Design for new indoor emclosure

I personally would go with a Perspex front and if it’s not suitable and causes any stress then you could always a paper or sticker transfer to the front...like those used to back reptile vivs or fish tanks . One think I would double check though, is the depth of the sides to make sure the ramp does ...

Hi Kimberley. It’s not often we encounter someone like yourself who does so much homework and over such a long tome. Well done to you. Your little menagerie sounds wonderful and your pets, including the little pony must be so happy to be with you. Regarding your little Horsfield (even down to spelli...

First of all can I say thanks for contacting us and welcome. Lol. Love it, Starsky and Hutch. Those are real 70’s names and they’re great. It must be starsky who wants the hutch, they can’t be alone. As you have made the area smaller to try and keep them nearer the light that was a good move, and be...

Hi Maria. It’s odd how we spend most of our life keeping a garden free of weeds and then all,of a sudden take umbrage when they won’t grow - Anyway, my idea - Yes, I have an idea....something is eating them...maybe rabbits, hares, mice, squirrels, snails, slugs or even the odd Sulcata. If it’s...

Re: New owner - confused about UVB light

Hi flora. You will get there in the end. Here is our article on indoor tables and a very good photo on how to hang lights and uvb. The strip (if that what you have) is best going across the table as it covers a better range where a tortoise might spend more time than if it were located to the side. ...

Re: Urates

Hiya. Did the stone come before the pink rates? If it did it could have caused a scratch or two on its way out. I would definitely bathe a couple of times a day for a while to get her hydrated and keep an eye on the urates to see if they return to a pasty consistency. Nice warm water for about 15 to...

It’s one that I know but for the life of me I cannot think what it is at the moment. Could you take a closer and clear photo of that flower.
I think it’s one of the moderate or sparingly feed but I need to be 100% sure.
Maybe Nina will know.

Re: Things are finally flowering!

There’s a lot like that Bex. Little of no shelter and grow like anything. Plantain and Campanula are two off the top of my head. Just a little clear glad or Perspex roof on a 4 bricks and secured down with something will see them through the harshest of winters and if they don’t keep going it will n...

Hi David. I don’t know if you read the whole thread but it does say in the 4th post down that a friend has expressed an interest in rehoming and that Stuart would keep us posted. I can only assume that things are going well as there has been no other notification from Stuart. Hope that is helpful al...

Re: New owner - confused about UVB light

Hi Flora. The best light in my opinion for your little one is the T5. Here’s a link. Expensive to start out but the uvb will last a year or norw and any future purchases will only be for the tube. This link is for the whole kit. https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/arcadia-prot5-kit-desert-12/ And the i...

Hiya.
I can only surmise that she is displaying for dominance towards the squash/gourd. Most of them do this and go on to imitate mating just to mark their position in the hierarchy.
No need to worry.

Oh, foxes. As beautiful as they are they can be such a pain for digging. Could you net it off. ;)
Great news the leaves are being eaten.

Yes it will get easier through using. Alongside the search there is a drop down with options of exact word or any word. Meanest try changing it to any word during your searches and it could work for you. If not just ask. My Christmas was perfect this year around my youngest grandchildren. Couldn’t h...

Re: Tortoise would eat nothing but tortoise pet food

Hit the right temp and things should be fine Lucre. How low is the bulb. It might be if you measure the temps a little off of the ground they are slightly higher (that’s confusing  ) meaning the temperature may rise a little to about 28-29C under the lamp. Inside a viv it is difficult to get ac...
