Tortoises in our care may become ill or injured, and we hope that this section of the TTT website will help you recognise signs that indicate whether your tortoise needs veterinary care. Where appropriate we will offer you some first aid advice until your tortoise can be seen by a specialist.
The Tortoise Table does not offer professional veterinary guidance, but we are experienced tortoise keepers and we will endeavour to support you along with the advice given by your reptile specialist, either on our forum or by email if you prefer.
Whenever you are unsure about the health of your tortoise please contact your exotics vet as soon as possible, rather than waiting to see if your tortoise improves. A consultation fee may be expensive, but the cost is worth it: either for the reassurance that all is well or for early treatment that may save the life of your tortoise.
