i got like 10 wild medor eu turtles roaming around my backyard for years and they are like family. however i want to make some use and grow some crops but not sure if they (the turtles) will ruin? i am inclined to plant asparagus and broccoli

Re: turtles and garden crops
Hi xdomum and welcome.
How lucky are you to have wild turtles in your garden.
I can’t say for sure if turtles or tortoises will ruin your crop but they will have a good go at them, is there a way that you could raise the area you would use to plant things, only a little, maybe 18 - 24 inches to stop turtles getting to them, or just place a border of bricks, blocks or wood around the outside of the planting area. It’s just something to prevent them getting to the crops.
Maybe `Nina will have some other ideas when she comes on here.
Hope that is helpful.
