Hello all!
The pictured weed has proven difficult to get rid of -- mostly due to it's *very deep* roots -- as we've tried removing it once, since had new lawn put down, and now it's coming back
Characteristics I've observed that aren't obvious from the photos:
- Rhubarb-like stems on mature specimens.
- Leaves typically green, but can also be a ruby colour.
- Very deep roots.
Any idea what it might be?
Bonus points for the best weedkiller to get rid of it (we have a new lawn that they're popping back up on, so something lawn friendly!).
Many thanks in advance

Re: Weed with deep roots and rhubarb-like stem
Can you remember if the seeds are small disks redish and flat?. It looks like dock and if it is the case it is very hard to remove but IMO the best way to remove any weeds are to keep digging up and NEVER allow the plant to get near seeding. As soon as it sends up a shoot then out with the weed remover.
Close mowing should keep it in check but being on top of it constantly should make a visible difference. When you think its all gone, dont rest, its not and will be back but percevere.

I don't know what the seeds look like, unfortunately.
Ahhhh dock leaves... at least it'll come in handy when the nettles come back
Thank you Lin!
