Can my 10 month old Hermans eat these?

Use this forum for identification of plants and flowers found in the UK. To allow us to help provide accurate identification we need clear pictures of the whole plant, where it is growing and close up pictures of flowers, buds or seed heads if any available. It would also be useful to see pictures showing the leaf attached to the stem.

Hi Anandita,

Was there meant to be a photo with your post? We're not sure which plant you are asking about. Hope Truck is doing well and enjoying the summer (hopefully weather will improve soon).

Hi Amandita,
I've posted your photos below. The plant in the pot is a Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos) and is perfectly fine to feed to your tortoise (and he will particularly like the flowers). Here are links to the two entries we have for hardy hibiscus:
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=237&c=4 and
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=711&c=4
The other plant is a Prickly Lettuce and is not good to feed to tortoise. Here is our entry for it:
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=372&c=6

I hope that helps.
