REHOMED - 4 Tortoises from Stranraer, Scotland.

Post by lin » 23 Sep 2022, 21:50

The owner who rescued these four tortoises has now had to make the heartbreaking decision that due to ill health they should be rehomed somewhere their new owner can give them the time and dedication that she has done in the past 12 years at her home in Scotland, near Stranraer. These lovely tortoises were all taken on from bad situations and have been taken care of by the owner who has transformed their diets, their enclosures and offering them the correct husbandry, light and heat and room both inside and outside in the warmer months has watched them go from strength to strength, and has seen the new smooth growth form on those once pitiful shells.
All are housed separate and can be rehomed separate and the indoor tables/enclosures can go with the tortoises but that will need discussing with the owner because they are large, heavy and will need dismantling.
There is Dozer the Horsfield and Dora the Hermann who were rehomed from being kept together in one small vivarium on a terrible diet of pellets and strawberries and no UVB, happily for the past 12 years they are enjoying plenty of space with a nourishing wild tortoise diet they both enjoy and living like a tortoise should with the correct light and heat in their own tortoise room with the others in separate tables.
Donald is a male Hermann who was rehomed 10 years ago and it was suggest he was 8, so possible around 20 years old.
Finally there’s Doofus who has been with his caring owners for 9 years, he was sadly attacked by a dog in his previous home causing his shell to be deformed.
None of the above tortoises have been ill while in the present owners care.
If we could get these little lovelies placed in caring homes before autumn sets in that would be great, so come on everyone put your feelers out.
If you could give a loving caring home to one or more of these tortoises then please send an email to the owner letting them know what you have to offer and a photo or two would be great.
You might have to copy and paste the address - ——————————
Good luck to all especially these beauties.
Please keep us posted and any advice you might need then ask either the owner or TTT.
Please be aware The Tortoise Table do not allow any money to change hands during the rehoming process.
