Post beak trim

Hello all,
Two days ago, Gonzales the spur-thighed tortoise had a checkup at the vet and had his beak trimmed a little. To me, it doesn't look like his beak was trimmed too radically but I'm not an expert so might be wrong - maybe you can see from the photos? Reminder: this is the tortoise with the underbite.

The problem is that the tortoise has been off his food ever since. I'm sure he's just a bit traumatised, and I'm not worried at this stage, but I did wonder if his beak was feeling a bit tender after the trim? If yes, would we need to feed him some kind of special soft food till he feels better?
Thanks for reading,
TP
