We have been keeping a close eye on Dynamite when he is in the garden we don't have a outside enclosure.
He likes being outside is it very likely that a bird will take him if he's not in a enclosure as Amber is so worried.
We are looking into a outside enclosure but we would like him to go outside in the meantime.
Thanks

It is possible for a bird to take a tortoise (and we once heard of a magpie taking a hatchling), but if you are outdoors with Dynamite then that wouldn't happen. If you Google outdoor tortoise enclosures and have a look, you'll get lots of ideas, and we have an article on the principles of outdoor enclosures on our website. For a temporary one, you can use logroll (get the tallest one and bury it in the ground about 8" or so). You could make a circular temporary enclosure with it and then put some netting over the top to keep out predators.

If he is just out in the open garden, then do stay with him as tortoises are amazing escape artists and he will climb or burrow down under a shrub very quickly if he wants to.
