Hi I have nearly finished my indoor table. I have used topsoil mix and will be planted out with edible plants. The substrate is approx 3-4 inches deep. My question is, I do a daily clean and tidy up but doing a main clean, do i just take out about an inch off the top and how often do i do it ?

Hi Phil,
Yes, those that have tortoises indoors in an open top enclosure usually spot clean daily and give it a substrate change and thorough clean once a month or so.
A little tip is if you bath a tortoise in nice warm water for around 20 mins it will usually do the deed while in the bath making it easier to keep the enclosure clean.
