The Tortoise Table

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here, I hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe in these crazy times.

I thought I would pop on and let you have a peek at Vera’s new tortoise table (I’ve added the photos as separate posts as it wouldn’t allow me to add them all to this one). It is 7ft long by 2ft deep ... he is spoilt I know but he loves it ... I’d love to know how many miles a day he covers in it

I’ve just today done a bit more work to the inside, adding slate and some stones to one side as well as keeping to the wood on the other side where his bath and water dish live. It was wood across the entire floor on both sides but I thought the stones and slate would help with having a bit of a different texture and also help to keep his claws and beak trimmed.

There is no soil in his house as if you remember Vera is a scruff and it was a living nightmare. He had a bad habit of walking through his bath then tramping in the soil and at one point he had that much caked on him he couldn’t get his head into his neck ... he is so naughty (but funny really)

I would love to know what you think of his house. Any tips or anything on what can be added/removed would be great.

OK so since my earlier post I’ve had an awful thought ... with all the slate, as he is a climber, I’m petrified in case he falls and cracks his shell so I’ve decorated again
