Re: Tiny’s new home
Hi all, hope you are well :) Just wanted to show off my enormous bindweed that’s grown along Tiny’s enclosure! It came up in between some paving slabs so I just poked it through and this happened 8-) also my plan worked for the hideaway, the grass has grown on the roof and around but have yet to fin...

Re: Tiny’s new home
And a few more of her adventures
And I made a hidey hole, dunno if the dirt/grass will stay put but fingers crossed, I’ve fenced it off so it can have a cpl weeks to settle. Hopefully it’ll stay put!

Re: Tiny’s new home
Haha Nina, there so good at taking apart these things we do for them! Over the past week, in between the rain, I have been busy making the enclosure more fun and I decided to put her old cold frame in, so she has something she knows and another safe place away from wind/rain etc! We had lovely sun t...

Re: Tiny’s new home
Hi, Yes I have been messaging the lady who has Speedy and the 1st couple days she was a bit grumpy, but she’s coming out of her shell now (excuse the pun  ) I was busy y/day planting bits and pieces, I have divided the enclosure so that it’s not too overwhelming for Tiny and it’ll give the plan...

Tiny’s new home
Hi guys, As I have rehomed Speedy, my daughter had the great idea to put Tiny in the enclosure! So after a cpl hours of making it as ‘Tiny’ safe as possible I put her in :) I’m gonna cut the grass and dig up various daisy bits and replant tortoise friendly plants I already have etc and hopefully she...

Re: Sulcata care sheet
Thank you Ladies :) It was a pleasure to have her, learn about her and I will miss her terribly, but it is the right decision. It was easier to get her sorted out now, in case we had little time to get her rehomed in the future. I did email you earlier Lin but I’m not sure if it sent, it goes into m...

Re: Sulcata care sheet
Thank you! I wanted to make sure that Speedy’s new owners had it! I have found her a wonderful new home :) Unfortunately Nan’s health has deteriorated rapidly over the past few months and the time was right for me to let Speedy go. As heartbreaking as it is, I’m happy that she now has 100ft grassed ...

Re: Temporary outside enclosure suggestion?
Hi Summerills, This was my temporary outside enclosure and it’s still being used 3 years later! It’s just a cold frame, normally used for growing plants! Although she now has use of some outside space, it’s been great for her! I just put wire mesh on the lid for really hot days when the plastic isn’...

Re: Shell worry!!
So we had lovely sunshine today and I put Tiny out for a few hours.... but we had a visitor (1st pic) so I made him a little ‘pond’ at the top of the garden and he had a soak and away he went! And proof that I’m not the meanie Tiny said I was  she thoroughly enjoyed her feast and I am planning ...

Re: Shell worry!!
I emailed Lin last week and never got a reply! Now I know why  I’ll keep bathing Tiny twice a week in Reptoboost and see how she goes, I am planning to change her outside enclosure once weather is warmer, have more plants and softer wood in there, no big rocks or stones etc... Had to share this...

Re: Shell worry!!
Hi, thank you for getting back to me! The red area does look like normal shell that has been dirtied, I will make sure I scrub a bit harder when I bathe her! The white circle does look reddish in the pic but doesn’t seem it with the naked eye! There is a small dip but it looks like it has shell grow...

Shell worry!!
I bathed Tiny this morning and noticed her under shell didn’t look great
Do I need to worry or is her shell ok? She has rocks and things she climbs etc, could they be doing damage?

Re: Lovely day!!
I’m so glad I made you smile :D I just cannot get Tiny to hibernate! I got her in the November and she was so small and poorly I just kept her warm and fed but now she wakes up as soon as she hears me in the morning! She warms under her lamp, eats some food and goes back to bed by lunchtime til it’s...

Lovely day!!
As the sun was out and it hit 16 here today, although a little windy the girls had their 1st hour outside 8-) It took Tiny approx 5 mins to munch thru the sow thistle (that took ALL winter to grow) I made sure I saved some for next time by putting a partition up and it worked! Speedy enjoyed her wan...

Thanks guys :) Look at that 2nd photo! Keep hearing a ‘Dong’ every now and then! Still she seems happy! Hopefully ...

Re: Overnight heat
I was wondering! I thought I’d upset you all  Had a bit of a nightmare, it is way too low and within a week she had climbed up a corner and brought down some of the wires and got herself all tangled upside down! At the time I was out driving and the camera kept going off... my daughter rang fro...
