Re: Plants ID (again!)

I would say this is more than likely Ragweed Kirsty. It’s quite blurry but compare with our entry photos.

Hi Kirsty. I would just like to ask if you could check out these plants that I think could be the ones in your photos. Dock is a no feed and Wood Avens can only be offered sparingly. https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/plant-database/viewplants/?plant=174&c=6#.YOgVMi14WfA https://www.thetortoise...

Hi Amber. It’s good to hear dynamite is doing well. It’s great that he is loving life outside. If he is going to be spending time outside while you are away then maybe a small poly house could be made with just four sides, a lid and an archway cutout could be made to take just for an extra heat boos...

Re: Tortoise safe wood preserver.

Hi Lottie.
I can’t see any reason it wouldn’t be ok to use on a tortoise enclosure. It is water based and providing it is left to throughly dry and any smells have dispersed it should be fine.
Tortoises are not known to bite at the wood anyway so IMO it will be safe.

Hiya, and thanks for contacting us. To get the correct temperature in the basking spot you can raise the bulb higher until the desired 30*C is levelled out, but, as you say that cannot be done and if the house is constantly warm then maybe you don’t need one with such a high temp but try, as you say...

That’s the best thing about tortoises Bex. They don’t worry about state of the are enclosures. Somewhere comfy, warm and dry just about covered it.
