REHOMED. - Terry - Male Horsfield. -

Terry, an unsexed Horsfield will be 4 this coming October but sadly, his or her heartbroken owners are having to find a loving home for Terry because they feel they are not doing enough to give Terry the best life they should be offering. They would love to pass Terry onto a loving family who know a...

Re: Background on enclosure

Thank you. There is a ledge which is about 1/2 inch there which the lids sits on but I think I will have to make it a bit wider as I do not like the lid being on really.

Re: Common Groundsel

Thank you Nina, I did not feed it to him. I have an app on my phone which identifies plants so have been going out to see what is there for him to eat. This one came up but at least I know not to give it to him. Thank you

Re: Background on enclosure

Thank you. The top tier has a little house which I can take out. I thought he would sleep in it so I put lots of substrate in there. He tends to sleep under the platform. He does, however like to use the top tier to try and climb out. I only take the lid off if I am there as he quite often ends up o...

Re: Background on enclosure

Hi Nina, hope you are well. I attach some photos, as you can see he does have 2 levels and logs, small rocks and even a little base to climb on for his food. He was fine in there and did not scratch and bash about until I put the wallpaper up last week. I feel I have frustrated him by putting it up ...

Background on enclosure

We have recently got a new table for Terry which was just plain wood. We decided to put a background on 2 sides to make it more interesting for him. Since we have put the background on, it is a forest scene, he has spent most of his time trying to go through it. Scratching at the wall etc. I am not ...

Re: Rehoming Advertising Protocol and Disclaimer

3 year old horsfield tortoise. We were given him as a Herman and vet confirmed this so have followed Herman care guidelines. I asked a question on the care forum and Nina very kindly came back with a very helpful and informative reply. It has made us think that we are really not the right people for...

Hi, Nina thank you for the detailed advice. It is very much appreciated. I have sent you an email in response. I have now changed his light to a basking lamp and remove the heat lamp and we now have 22 at the cool end and 30 at the lamp end. After his bath this morn8 g he stayed under the basking la...

Advice Needed - 3 year old Herman

We have a nearly 3 year old Herman tortoise who has stopped eating and moves very little. Up until about 4 weeks ago all was fine, he was a good eater and very active. He now will not eat and sleeps all the time. We have seen a Vet who has carried out a blood test and x-rays - all was good. We have ...
