Re: Leopard
Hi there Many thanks for the recommendation of visiting hawthorn vets We took sheldon for a visit on Monday and I must say that the exotic pet vet they have is very thorough and checked him over from head to toe. She even took a sample of the dry skin around his head and eyes to look under a microsc...

Re: Leopard
Hi Polly, Many thanks for letting us know that the practice in Bognor no longer has an exotics vet -- we'll delete it from our list. Our list is made up from recommendations by various tortoise keepers, so there might well be other exotics vets in your area, but they just haven't been recommended ye...

Re: Leopard
Hi all
I have attached photos of his eyes hope they help they seem "crusty" first thing in the morning.
I have measured the temperature in his enclosure and it is steady at 32
I am also spaying his enclosure twice a week hoping to keep any dust down
He is 18 months old

Leopard
Hi there
I am a little concerned about my leopards eyes.
On most days when tending to his needs I am finding his eyes are dry and need bathing with warm water in order for them to open
Is this normal or am I missing something n his daily care
Thanks for any help

Re: Leopard
Hi lin Thank you for your advice so far When we got our little munchkin the setup was complete with a 100 watt uvb/heat lamp which we found to be too hot during the summer months and we could not raise it enough to cool it. We were advised to reduce this to a 70 watt which was a little cooler and wo...

Hi there
Our 1 year old leopard iS becoming lethargic as the weather cools off. He lives indoors and I understand they do not hibernate.
Is this lethargy due to him not keeping warm enough or perhaps Just due to him not hibernating and slowing his metabolism down ??
Thanks for any advice

Worried about amount of food leopard is eating
I recently (2 weeks ago) got a 9 month old leopard tortoise and am getting a little concerned regarding the amount he is eating. We are feeding him as per the guidelines including supplements but he doesn’t seem to be ravenous and only eats very small amounts. Should I be concerned ?
