Mother-in-Law's Tongue (Mother in Laws Tongue, Devil's Tongue, Snake Plant, Snake Tongue)

- Common Name: Mother-in-Law's Tongue (Mother in Laws Tongue, Devil's Tongue, Snake Plant, Snake Tongue)
- Latin Name: Sansevieria spp.
- Family Name: Asparagaceae (formerly Ruscaceae/Dracaenaceae)
Sansevierias are not toxic, but they have very fibrous leaves that might not appeal to many tortoises. Some sources say that the Mother-in-law's Tongue contains saponins, but they are not toxic as such, and no harm will come to a tortoise if the odd leaf is nibbled, or if fed as part of a wider, more varied diet.
