Also called Star Flower, the flowers and leaves of Borage contain the alkaloid pyrrolizidine, which can cause liver damage. It also has a negative calcium to phosphorus ratio and so is unsuitable as a tortoise food.
Borage is a wild flower but is often cultivated and grown in gardens where the flower colour may be white or pink.
