Garden weeds

Use this forum for identification of plants and flowers found in the UK. To allow us to help provide accurate identification we need clear pictures of the whole plant, where it is growing and close up pictures of flowers, buds or seed heads if any available. It would also be useful to see pictures showing the leaf attached to the stem.

Hi Bex.
The plant with the little white flowers emerging. I cant see that clear enough as its quite a small pic and it wont blow up any. Would you be able to take a closer pic. I assume it has a square stem?. If you can also get a close up of the flower that would be good too.

The next one with the brown heart shaped leaf looking like an odd clover. That one is Oxalis and a no feed.

The last pic with the small plants in.
First big round leaf is Jack by the Hedge and ok in moderation.
Theres one that has leaves that come off the stalk in thin points...that one is a fine to feed and probably Hawksbeard.
Cant see the one behind the middle one but it is a feed.
The second one from the right is very blurry so a clear shot of that would be appreciated if you can.
The last one on the right looks like it will grow up to be a Sow Thistle making it fine.

Ragwort, Bex. A big no feed. If you see any in the garden get rid before ir flowers or seeds or its impossible to shift.
Look for it in the database by typing in the search bar.

Ok, very glad I asked!! I did pull the one out of garden, but the fully grown ones are where I walk the dog.

Thank you Lin 8-)

Your welcome Bex.
This has the ability to kill horses, so not very nice at all.

From what I can see, it looks like Nipplewort to me, but let's see what others say.

I agree, Nipplewort and it looks like you have some seeds there too.

Thanks very much for confirming the ID. Is it good to have seeds Lin, are they easy to grow?

If the seeds are there now then that means they would fall naturally if growing wild. In my garden I just tip up the plant to allow the seeds to fall. If you dont see anything this pop up year they will definitely be there come spring/summer.
