He has had a lovely day! I love it when they are curious and explore, and Speedy is certainly curious!

Oh dear. Of course they were a hit, don't we all just love something that we shouldn't be eating -
Perhaps that yummy strawberry, especially as it was from Nan's house, should be kept for those that will really appreciate them and not your greedy little shelled one, bless him - lol Sulcatas will eat anything they shouldn't . They're little devils but yours is a handsome one..

I promise I won't do it again...unfortunately she is very fussy with eating, takes me weeks to get her to try something new! Also she won't stay out in the sun for long, keep finding her in the coldest part of garden asleep or fussing at door to come in, then she just goes under living room table! I keep putting her in the sun but she marches off back to where I found her, is this normal?? I thought they thrive on heat?
Just want her to be as happy as possible.

The more you offer her things that are sweet and juicy, things she shouldnt have, the more she will turn her nose up at the better things you offer her Bex.
Be cruel to be kind is the way forward for Sulcatas that are being awkward and just remove the sweets only offering grass, hays and a very few flowers to make a ratio of 80% grass and 20% flowers or there abouts. You will make a rod for your own back if you dont put your foot down and be strick now. I know it sounds horrid but please do the right thing for this little beauty. :D

Lesson learnt... Do I need to worry about her lack of liking the sun?

Bex, for a first day out Speedy has done so well. The more she is out absorbing the natural UV the stronger and healthier she will get and this in turn will increase the amount of time she will stay in full sun. It is always best to offer both sun and shade and let them decide for themselves, but like you it'd give her a little cool time then try to encourage the sunnier spots whilst we have them.

You do realise that this is a rod for your own back come rainy and winter days. Speedy will SULK, so enjoy these sunny days and adventures and remind yourself of them when Speedy is clunking around begging to get out LOL

Beautiful pictures!

Its good to research first Bex....BUT...we all learn as we go along, nobody knows it all so your not alone and your doing great.

During the winter they will eat the Testudo pre alpien for grazing species and products like Graze on or Ready Grass. The thing is to get them used to it before winter and having grass growing to mix in with it is a great idea.
