My Hermann's?

Post by Steve » 02 Jun 2018, 22:48

We've had our Lenny for over 35 years but I'm still not 100% sure he's a he and a Hermann's! Could somebody help? Also any idea of approximate age? Thanks

Hi Steve,

I'm not very good at species ID, so hopefully someone will come on soon with an answer to that, but I can say that Lenny is definitely male and I would say well over 35 years, as his scutes have smoothed down nicely as they do with age. He looks to be in fine shape too, so you have obviously given him an excellent home and care.

Hi Steve.
Yes, he is 100% male Testudo hermanni, and a handsome one at that.
