Are these weeds ok

Use this forum for identification of plants and flowers found in the UK. To allow us to help provide accurate identification we need clear pictures of the whole plant, where it is growing and close up pictures of flowers, buds or seed heads if any available. It would also be useful to see pictures showing the leaf attached to the stem.

Hi Carol,
These leaves look like they could be broad leaf plantain, but it's almost impossible to ID a plant from leaves that have been torn off, because the leaves of so many plants look similar (lol, think of trying to identify a breed of dog from a close up of part of one ear). We need to see how the leaves come off the stem or how they come straight out of the ground, etc., so we always ask that you take a photo of the plant growing in situ, plus photos of any flowers or seed heads on the plant. If there are no flowers or seed heads then just the photo of the plant, taken from the side if it has a stalk that comes up, or looking straight down if it is a rosette on the ground, plus a close-up of some leaves, so we can see the pattern of veins on the leaf, whether it has hairs on it or is smooth, etc.

Here is our entry for broadleaf plantain, which takes the form of a rosette on the ground -- does your plant look like that?

If you can get another photo if it growing in the ground that would be great.
