Plant ID please

Use this forum for identification of plants and flowers found in the UK. To allow us to help provide accurate identification we need clear pictures of the whole plant, where it is growing and close up pictures of flowers, buds or seed heads if any available. It would also be useful to see pictures showing the leaf attached to the stem.

It's a bit hard to tell, looking straight down at it like that, and without a flower, but it looks like one of the Willowherbs to me (probably Rosebay Willowherb). Does it resemble either of these?

It will probably have a flower in the next week or two, so it would be great if you could send us a photo when it does flower.

Thank you Nina I will wait until it flowers and then see. It looks more compact than the willow herb as I do have that in my garden too.
Someone suggested Evening Primrose but I don’t know about that either

It doesn't look like the most common Evening Primrose, as the leaves are too pointed (and I can't see what the stem looks like because of the angle of the photo), but there are other species of Evening Primrose, with different leaf shapes, so we'll know for sure when it flowers.
