Hi Lisa,

I'll have a go, but I'm not sure about some of these so hopefully Lin or someone else will come in too.

The first lot of photos. In the first photo there are two plants. On the right is a smooth sowthistle, but I'm not completely sure what the plant on the left is.
The second photo down looks a bit like a dandelion, but probably is one of the other, closely related plants -- it looks a bit too vigorous for a dandelion, but it might be.
The last photo looks like a violet -- can I see the remains of a little purple flower there?

Sorry I can't be more definite on these -- some more photos might help, especially if there are any flower or seed heads.

In the second lot of photos, the first two photos are Persicaria (type persicaria into the search box on our website and see if you agree).
I agree that the last photo is of a dandelion, so some nice munchies of this one for your tortoise.

Thanks, Lin. Are you saying that both plants in the first photo are Sowthistles? I thought the smaller plant on the right was a Smooth Sowthistle, but the plant on the left doesn't look like a Smooth Sowthistle to me. -- is it another kind of Sowthistle? It looks like too big a rosette for a Sowthistle, and the leaves look a bit too ruffley.

First photo plant on left looks a lot like Ragwort to me, so a clearer shot would help with this one.

Oohhh! Thanks for saying that Nina, Helen. I think you may be right and a closer shot of the leaf would confirm what the first pic of the plant on the left is.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!! Thanks for the identification, I definitely agree with with all the plants but still not sure about the possible ragwort.
Kind regards,
Lisa

Thanks for the additional photos, and I'm not sure about that plant either. It could be Ragwort, but there are other plants that can look sort of similar (Broadleaf filaree for example). I think if it was in my garden, and given how deadly Ragwort is, I would just err on the side of caution and either pull it out, or wait until it flowers so that we can be sure, but in the meantime make sure your tortoise doesn't have access to it.
