Should he be eating this?

Anybody know what this is? It’s all over our garden and when flowers has a small lilac flower?

Hi Steve,

Ha, ha -- not so great to ask if a tortoise should be eating something after they've eaten it :D , but in this case you've lucked out and it should be fine. It's either Campanula (the low growing variety that can grow out of walls), or Dog Violet. Both are edible, and if you can send us a close-up of one of the flowers then we can give you a definite ID. The colour of the flowers and the shape of the leaves can look similar, but the shape of the flowers is very different, which is why a close-up photo would be good.

Thanks Nina. I’m pretty sure it’s the first one the Campanula, and that’s good it’s safe for him to eat! I’ll put a picture up when it flowers.
