Warning -- Sub-Zero Temperatures

Post by Nina » 10 Dec 2017, 20:41

Tonight is expected to be the coldest night in two years in the UK, with temperatures dropping to -7C in the south, -9C in N. Ireland and -12C in some areas of Scotland. If your tortoise is hibernating in a shed or garage, make sure you monitor temperatures and add supplemental heating if necessary. Long periods of sub-zero temperatures will eventually affect even the best insulated boxes and your tortoise could suffer damage (soft tissues, like eyes, freeze first) if these low temperatures continue over the next week.
