This adorable young man (that could be female) really needs a nice forever home to settle into before
Christmas. His previous owners found him wandering the road some time back and now want to have him looked after by people that know his needs.
All we know is that he is more than 6 years old, likes to be outside during the day in the warm weather and lives indoors for the winter.
If you would like to offer this beauty a home please leave your intrests here with what you have to offer and the owner will contact you.

Hi Lin, we’d love to take him and give him a good home. We already have one healthy Hermanns tort (male, currently in the fridge) who is 8 years old. It would be nice for him to have a companion! We live near Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

Thanks for your interest in our tortoise. Would it bother you if he was in fact a female as we are unsure as to what sex hr is, the vets advised us he is a male but may not be. Also where would he be kept during the summer? He is not very good at hibernation yet as he was quite small so he's a bit intermittent with that too, would that be a problem? Thanks

Hi we have 2 Herman’s that we rescued from Sue. Whilst they are tucked up for another year of hibernation when they are awake following the wake wakey meet they have free reign of a large enclosed garden and a very large covered sleeping area that they put themselves to bed. There are no dogs. They are 2 Ladies Pru and Liz. So he/she would be more than welcome to join us. Bev

Hello again,
We wouldn’t mind at all if he turned out to be female. I’d love our tort to have company of his own kind although I know in the wild they are solitary. We are able to separate torts if he does turn out to be female and if our male pesters ‘her’ too much we can separate temporarily or as necessary. Our tort has free range of our conservatory and downstairs area on cold days but in summer and on warm days he goes into our garden. He also has a lamp. We feed various weeds and flowers as recommended. We always bring him in at night We hibernate in a special fridge for 10 weeks as our male is still young at 8 years old. Thanks for considering us. Cobi & Mark.

Ok, no worries and I am sorry for your loss but I am afraid to say that this one isnt yours as it was found around six years ago.
Have you thought yours might have dig down during a cool snap and decided to hibernate. You never know, he may pop back up in the spring. Never give up though and always be on the look out.
Good luck in finding him and do let us know.

Thanks Lin, yes that is what I am hoping. With all of this rain we are having today, I am going to get out into the garden again in case I have better luck moving the soil around. Our other tortoise is in hibernation, it would be lovely if we managed to find the missing one.

It would be nice but dont hold out for him coming up before the spring. A sleeping tortoise will not get up once dug in and comfortable. I would hedge my bets on that is what has happened. I have heard of some people finding their tortoises over a year down the line in the same garden they were last seen in and some manage to pop next door - lol.
Dont give up.
