LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME – a 1 year old Testudo hermanni tortoise – EAST SUSSEX - REHOMED

Due to ill health in our family and an unforeseen change in family circumstances, we have very sadly come to the decision that we need to find a new 'forever home' for Morel. He (she) is only a baby (approximately 1 year old), so we are hoping he can go to a family who will give him lots of love and the attention that he deserves but we are unable to give him now.

He is in fantastic health and has steadily gained weight since we have had him. He has only ever had a weed based diet and can be quite a greedy little tort...you will often finding him waiting on his slate once he has warmed up in the morning! He has daily baths for approximately 20 mins which he enjoys and then he tends to spend his day rampaging around his table before going to bed at around 6.30pm...he really is a lovely little character!

He will be rehomed in his tortoise table that comes with everything you need to be up and running within minutes (see pics), we also have a spare Arcadia 80W bulb. The table has the following dimensions:

(30 x 18 x 6in)

We also have calcium powder, Reptavite and ‘Pre Alpin Baby’ dried weeds (useful for the winter months) that his new owners can have.

It is very important to us that Morel finds the right home and should he be joining a group, I would appreciate it if you could send pictures of the potential set up/quarantine facilities.

Hello, as mentioned in the post, we are in East Sussex. Should you wish to be considered as a potential new owner, please can you provide some additional information about yourself/experiences with tortoises, etc?

Many thanks.

I would happily give your baby a forever home, at present I have a 14 year old Hermann Dusty who spends his days in our garden, which might I add he thinks is his. He is free to graze in the garden and is also fed kale, gem lettuce and cuttle fish bone. I have recently added a new baby of 2 years to the family who has a tortoise table of his own, but if its nice an sunny he/she likes to sunbath to in the garden but he like to sunbath in his table.
If you were to choose to re home your baby with me, he would be kept separate from both Dusty and my new baby Smudge until they are big boys.

If I have sent an email and have not had a reply, I am assuming they do not want me to re home their baby. Only reason for asking is I am new to this process.
Thanks
Claire

Thank you to everyone that has commented here or emailed me offering our baby Hermann a home. I am hopeful that he has found loving new owners to give him the love and attention that we unfortunately cannot give him at the moment :-( He is due to go to his new home mid August.

Many thanks again, Natalie
