Horsfield tortoises share the nest

You wouldn't believe the space these tortoises have and they both decide to lay their eggs in the same nest. The one on the left is a first timer, so perhaps she is in learning mode. Excuse my thumb in the corner of the picture.

Lovely capture

I think in the wild they would naturally do this as a preditor can only eat so many eggs. Then again it could just have been our mini heatwave.

They not only have to take care over what they are laying but whats already in the nest! Amazing :o

I have never seen a tortoises and its egg.
