For those who don't speak Spanish -- I think 'hermosos' means 'beautiful'!

That's OK, Angela -- it's really good for us to learn other languages (I think English speaking people are the worst at learning languages -- and of course for the most part our tortoises don't originate in countries where English is the main language!).

What beautiful tortoises! I think you are Queen of tortoises in Egypt, May -- you are doing so much good work there. I do wish we had some of your sunshine and warmth -- my tortoises have been awake now since the beginning of March, but they have to stay indoors because it is so cold here -- and they are dying to get outside.

Hi May,

I'm so sorry for my late reply to your post. I had seen these beautiful pictures but couldn't reply at the time.

Can i ask more specifically about the hatchings?

How many eggs did the female lay and was it in small batches? If so over what period of time?

What temperature, humidity and substrate did you use? And how many days until they hatched?

You've raised a beautiful group there, I'm thrilled that you have managed to add to the population of this critically endangered species.
