That is the sweetest looking little tortoise! No wonder you rescued him from that pet shop -- and he is so lucky to have found a home with you!

Hi Joe, thank you for asking... I have to use a local aquatic/pet shop to feed my beardie so in there a cpl times a month. Always have a look at the reptiles and never had any problems but this time I spotted him on his own, very dark, head appeared slumped down. Only food was big chunks of carrot and greens, and it was in a dish taller than he was! I raised concerns and asked how he was supposed to reach the food, let alone eat it etc.... They assured me they would improve a few things and I left. I thought about him for days, just couldn't shake him off so I went back and they had put a flat dish in and cut the food smaller but right next to it was a bigger, deeper dish full of water!! Easily climbable and chance of drowning, he was still dull and I asked to hold him, he was just so little and vulnerable and I just could not leave him there. After a long heated tit for tat debate with the manager, I bought him home. Don't know if I did right and often wonder if I should of reported it, but he's amazing and is extremely active and growing well, so I feel did right by him!
I do have paperwork for him and the team feel the info on it is correct, he is microchipped too.

Such a lovely picture Bex, might be worth sending off a poop sample since he hasn't had the best of starts.
Wormcount is an online company. It costs around £15 and they will email you the results. Or you could ask your local vet for a quote.
