Hi All

Having lost my tort MrB for a few weeks in the garden.
We looked long and hard but with no joy.
He just popped up the other day sunning him self in his weed patch.
My question is there any tech that you can attach to a tort safely that will help you track / find with an app ???
Got to ne better than in my pic .😁😁😁

I know, it's super scary when they disappear -- and they are great escape artists. I remember quite a few years ago someone was advertising a device that was a bit like those gadgets that people use to find their keys (where you clap and your keys respond with a beep), but I don't know what happened to it. I just googled 'device to track a tortoise' and came up with this:
https://www.telemetrysolutions.com/herp ... -tortoise/
and there is a link to this video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpDK3S6 ... e=youtu.be I didn't watch all of it, and don't know what it costs, but somewhere else on the site it says their products range from 'a few hundred to a few thousand dollars'!
And there is this article from 2007 about a woman who has fitted all 60 of her tortoises with radio tracking devices:
http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/tortoises-fi ... e-1-120388

Try googling some other terms and see what you come up with -- I'd be interested to hear about anything good that will not require taking out a second mortgage on the house!

The only thing I would be worried about is attaching something that is too large to the tortoise's shell. Their shells have pores to breath through and allow heat transpiration, and covering it up with something too big could interfere with that. Ha, ha -- your device is clever, but you need to be sure that anything attached to the shell can't snag or catch on a plant or something and disrupt their progress in walking around, or wouldn't impede it digging into the ground a bit as tortoises do (other than that it should work fine).
