Will!

Post by laurat » 01 Aug 2017, 18:11

Hey everyone!

Now, I know this is a subject which we all don't like discussing but when it comes to will writing, what have you, or do you have suggestions for your tortoise as we all know there's a high chance they're going to outlive us?

Thank you.

Hi Laura -- and that is a very good and very important point to raise.

Personally I have it in my will that my tortoises are going to a friend who has agreed to have them, but I don't have a back-up plan if she pre-deceases me, so I should think about that.
Do you know anyone who could take your tortoise, and who you trust to give it a good home? There are various re-homing organisations who could do it for you, but if you go that route you want to ensure that they do a thorough check of any potential home before allowing your tortoise to go there.

I'd be interested to hear what others have done.

Absolutely nothing, so far - & as someone with way too many dependants - scaled, shelled & furry - & none too young, this is something I really need to address before I fall off my perch!!

Thanks for the prod - a very important subject, as Laura says......
