Re: Urates
Hiya. Did the stone come before the pink rates? If it did it could have caused a scratch or two on its way out. I would definitely bathe a couple of times a day for a while to get her hydrated and keep an eye on the urates to see if they return to a pasty consistency. Nice warm water for about 15 to...

Re: Please could someone ID this for me
It’s one that I know but for the life of me I cannot think what it is at the moment. Could you take a closer and clear photo of that flower.
I think it’s one of the moderate or sparingly feed but I need to be 100% sure.
Maybe Nina will know.

Re: Things are finally flowering!
There’s a lot like that Bex. Little of no shelter and grow like anything. Plantain and Campanula are two off the top of my head. Just a little clear glad or Perspex roof on a 4 bricks and secured down with something will see them through the harshest of winters and if they don’t keep going it will n...

Hi David. I don’t know if you read the whole thread but it does say in the 4th post down that a friend has expressed an interest in rehoming and that Stuart would keep us posted. I can only assume that things are going well as there has been no other notification from Stuart. Hope that is helpful al...

Re: New owner - confused about UVB light
Hi Flora. The best light in my opinion for your little one is the T5. Here’s a link. Expensive to start out but the uvb will last a year or norw and any future purchases will only be for the tube. This link is for the whole kit. https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/arcadia-prot5-kit-desert-12/ And the i...

Hiya.
I can only surmise that she is displaying for dominance towards the squash/gourd. Most of them do this and go on to imitate mating just to mark their position in the hierarchy.
No need to worry.

Oh, foxes. As beautiful as they are they can be such a pain for digging. Could you net it off.
Great news the leaves are being eaten.
I think we are all looking forward to spring and a nice long hot summer, but first I need to wish you a very happy 2020.

Re: (Iceplant) Mesembryanthemum crystallinum
Yes it will get easier through using. Alongside the search there is a drop down with options of exact word or any word. Meanest try changing it to any word during your searches and it could work for you. If not just ask. My Christmas was perfect this year around my youngest grandchildren. Couldn’t h...

Hiya. We do hope you have had a good Christmas. We do have the mesembryanthemum on the database. Here is the entry and this shows that the mesembryanthemum are safe. The ones that are showing on the website are cultivated for gardens. https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/plant-database/viewplants/?pl...

Re: Tortoise would eat nothing but tortoise pet food
Hit the right temp and things should be fine Lucre. How low is the bulb. It might be if you measure the temps a little off of the ground they are slightly higher (that’s confusing  ) meaning the temperature may rise a little to about 28-29C under the lamp. Inside a viv it is difficult to get ac...

Re: Tortoise would eat nothing but tortoise pet food
Hi Lucra. The shop had no right to sell you something that is proven to be not good for tortoises to live in. You can return it to the shop and get a refund if you like. It is very easy to make a ‘tortoise table’ so if you want to make one let me know and I will try and find something that might sui...

Re: Tortoise would eat nothing but tortoise pet food
Hi Lucre and it’s nice to hear from you. Can you say what country you are in and the temperature of that country? No tortoises should be offered a diet of things like the lettuce, cauliflower and greens but rather natural weeds and flowers like they would fine if they were still in the wild, and you...

Hiya, sorry to be late in coming in on this one.
If you have photos of your sedums and would like to send them in I will be able to tell you if you have the S.acre. It is identifiable by very small, tightly packed triangular leaves.
