Kohlrabi (Turnip Cabbage, Turnip-rooted Cabbage)

Although not actually toxic, this low-growing, stout variety of cabbage, with its nearly spherical edible stem is high in oxalates (which interfere with the uptake of calcium) and goitrogens (which interfere with iodine uptake, resulting in thyroid problems).  It is therefore not recommended as a food for tortoises.
