Although two sources list Safflower as being acceptable in the diets of Egyptian tortoises and Iguanas, we have found some evidence that in large quantities it might cause some harm to mammals (although the harmful property is not specified). We therefore think it best to err on the side of caution and feed this plant in small quantities only.
