There are no known hazards to livestock from Liquidambar, but we can find no evidence that it has been tested within the tortoise diet.  So although a nibble will probably do no harm The Tortoise Table would rather err on the side of caution and suggest you avoid feeding this plant in any quantity until further evidence is available. 

Liquidambar displays a rather inconspicuous flower which is green.
