Common Name: Tansy (Golden Buttons, Bitter Buttons, Mugwort)
Latin Name:Tanacetum vulgare
Family Name: Asteraceae/Compositae
Tansy is TOXIC, containing thujone, which has been known to cause convulsions. The leaves and flowers have been used as an insect repellent, and a chemical compound is produced in the leaves to prevent animals from grazing, so this is one to avoid.
Tansy is closely related to Feverfew (which should also be avoided).
