Statice (Sea Lavender)

 Do not Feed
  • Common Name: Statice (Sea Lavender)
  • Latin Name: Limonium spp.
  • Family Name: Plumbaginaceae
Not much research is available on Statice, but as a member of the Plumbago family it contains plumbagin that could cause some unpleasant effects if ingested, including blistering, vomiting and heat sensitivity.  There have been some reports that this plant repels moths, and that the root is a source of tannin.  It is probably best to avoid feeding Statice until further information is available.
