Virginia Creeper

 Do not Feed
  • Common Name: Virginia Creeper
  • Latin Name: Parthenocissus quinquefolia
  • Family Name: Vitaceae
Skin contact with the leaves in autumn can cause dermatitis in some people, as the tissues of this plant contain microscopic, irritating needle-like crystals called raphides. The plant also has diuretic properties and the berries are highly toxic to humans and so the whole plant is best avoided.

Not to be confused with Boston Ivy (Parthenocissus tricuspidata).
